Cutie pie! Remember that?
Say what you will about season 7, this is a great piece of dialogue. It’s so layered, deep with meaning AND a long time coming.
It’s like all seasons were meant to lead Lorelai (and us!) to this realization that it’s more important to be ourselves then to do the opposite of what people want, just because we don’t like them.
Basically, Lorelai stayed a teenager much longer than most people, ahah! But that doesn’t mean it’s not a great lesson for anyone.
Everyone can look back on their lives and see where they got themselves wrong.
That’s okay, though. All you have to do is assess.
And spend time by yourself 🩷
In the end, I believe Lorelai does like Pop Tarts 😋
She’s going through an existential crisis there, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like it.
It was her first taste of freedom. Of the life she was gonna have. The life she wanted to have!
Easy, unpretentious food… eating in diners… watching movies, being a couch-potato… living in a small town, in a simple house…
All her choices up to that point lead to the same conclusion:
She wanted “freedom, rebellion and independence.”
Don’t we all? 😋
She wanted a life that wasn’t her parents’ life, that was different to what she had then (when she had that first bite of Pop Tart! 🩷)
Getting to know ourselves outside our parents’ world is crucial for happiness and always a good reminder.
That’s why I put it on a hoodie 🤭:
The [hoodie felt] like I was my own person!
Me, I have the sweatshirt, but I just love it. It feels right, you know?
It’s like a big “LET ME BE!” billboard for anyone who's not accepting you exactly as you are.
Now they’re gonna have to! 😉
Until April 16th, if you buy 2 items in the shop, you’ll get 25% off your order.

(Pssst! You can get a tiny item as your 2nd item, you know? Like a sticker or a button. You’ll still get the deal 😏🤫)
Talk soon,

P.S. If you like Pop Tarts, you’ll also love these 😍:
